Changzhou Airport plans to expand cargo storage

The feasibility study of changzhou Airport reconstruction and expansion project (acting project proposal) was approved, and 19,275 square meters of cargo warehouse is planned to be expanded.

Recently, a feasibility study report on the reconstruction and expansion of A Terminal area of Changzhou Benniu International Airport (agent project proposal) has been approved by Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission.

According to reply, the project total investment 1.658 billion yuan, the main construction contents for the expansion of the terminal building of 31000 square meters, freight library of 19275 square meters, business integrated parking building, airport security room, field service and atc secondary radar station, supporting the construction of communication, navigation, meteorology, power supply, water supply, fire control, cooling, heating and other projects.

At present, the Municipal Party Committee and government of Changzhou vigorously implements the "532" development strategy, speeds up the construction of the transportation axis of the Yangtze River Delta, and builds a modern logistics center with high standards centering on the positioning of "international intelligent city and hub of Yangtze River Delta".

According to introducing, in the next five years, changzhou municipal party committee municipal government will make "for international and domestic important international airport and the coordinated development of the east China area for regional aviation hub" this positioning, improve airport covers the breadth and depth of understanding and connection speed, will strive to changzhou airport into a fully functional, perfect supporting the modernization of medium-sized hub airport.

Changzhou Airport is an important part of Changzhou's comprehensive transportation system and an important support for Changzhou to build itself into the central axis hub of Yangtze River Delta. During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, the aviation business volume continues to grow, so it is urgent to accelerate the implementation of a new round of renovation and expansion projects.

The approval of feasibility study marks a major breakthrough in the preliminary work of the project. In the next step, Changzhou Airport will accelerate the preparation of preliminary design and application for approval, and strive to put into operation as soon as possible, so as to inject more powerful power to promote the high-quality leap-forward development of Changzhou.

In 2021, The passenger throughput of Changzhou International Airport reached 2,923,600, with a year-on-year increase of 29.64%. The cargo throughput was 20,100 tons, up 6.37% year on year.
