Cainiao revealed a new move to double the efficiency of cross-border parcel distribution

Cainiao logistics technology has been used in seven European countries, doubling the efficiency of cross-border parcel distribution.

This month, Cainiao will complete the transformation of its national distribution center in Italy, bringing the number of cainiao distribution centers in Europe to seven. The distribution centers are in seven countries, including Belgium, France, Spain and Italy.

Compared with the local logistics distribution centers in Europe, the biggest advantage of cainiao distribution center lies in its core logistics technology capabilities. Cainiao overseas Distribution Center adopts the self-developed overseas distribution system (GXMS) and builds the "flow engine" of core product functions to label the attributes of the complex global cross-border parcel business. The automated equipment is then directed in a flexible and configurable way to sort packages to the destination slot. The system has more than doubled the sorting efficiency of cainiao's European distribution center.

Overseas distribution centers face more complex logistics scenarios than domestic ones. "Domestic distribution focuses on sorting within the relatively mature express delivery system. Overseas, due to the different logistics infrastructure level, industry form and user habits of each country, the distribution scenario of each country is different." Cainiao international export products technology department Jiang Tianyang said.

Cainiao's overseas distribution centers are divided into two categories: one is located in eHub smart logistics hub, the other is national distribution center, Belgium distribution center belongs to the former, Spain, France and Italy distribution center belongs to the latter. The logistics scenes of the two distribution centers are different, the operation forms are different, and the granularity of distribution is very different. "This is the problem that flow direction engine needs to solve. We must have such a flexible and configurable core function module in our distribution system to meet the requirements of different logistics scenarios." Jiang tianyang said.

In Cainiao's eHub in Liege, Belgium, when cross-border parcels from China arrive, the flow engine distributes them according to the flow direction of destination country, and coordinates with Cainiao's regional kaban network to specify the distribution destination to truck lines and injection points. The package is then transported to the corresponding pan-European countries through the pre-planned fulfillment route of the system.

In Spain, Cainiao is building a local logistics network. Therefore, the Distribution center of Spain needs to distribute the packages arriving across the border and receiving locally according to the dimensions of local logistics providers, even cainiao's self-operated distribution stations, and the distribution lines of terminal small couriers.

Alvaro Giron is operations manager at Cainiao's Madrid distribution center. He and his team are working to increase capacity. "The application of logistics technology has greatly improved the efficiency of sorting. The deployment of these automated sorting equipment has enabled us to sort packages from all over Spain and Portugal, which was unimaginable before. As a result, our consumers get faster and higher quality logistics services, which also brings a good reputation for Cainiao's customer experience, "said Zhang. Alvaro Giron said.

Digitalized overseas distribution centers have greatly enhanced the operation depth of Cainiao's overseas local logistics network. At present, cainiao's overseas digital-intelligence distribution system has been deployed globally, supporting global cross-border and local logistics networks, and providing local differentiated system support for overseas logistics operators by means of multilingual adaptation.

Rookie Xu Miao, head of the international export logistics products division has just said: "as a rookie logistics industry the rapid advance of globalization, rookie logistics technology is accelerating at sea, intelligent single and cross-border freight warehouse, number, number of customs affairs intellectualization of air cargo terminal, automation logistics distribution center, science and technology throughout the whole cross-border logistics links."

Li Qiang, CTO of Cainiao, said in an interview that cainiao's logistics technology not only leads the industry, but also sticks to solid, user-friendly and local innovation, which really makes cross-border logistics more efficient and helps domestic goods to go abroad more convenient.
